Ship Repairs
text "Perhaps this friendly creature can help us repair our ship and get off of this world."
completion "Thanks to Vinalisj, you've managed your first steps towards escaping this planet. He's given you a super useful Personal Tricorder"

Ship Repairs is the first Frackin' Universe quest, if the player character decided to use their race's default ship. It is obtained by meeting Vinalisj and accepting it from him. It rewards you with the Personal Tricorder , and 50 Pixels.

Objectives[]

  • Create a Machining Table in your [C]rafting Menu.
    • You need 2 Iron Bars, 2 Copper Bars, and 4 Paper.
  • Use the Machining Table to make Wire.
    • You need a single Copper Bar
  • Use the Machining Table to create an Electromagnet.
    • You need an Iron Bar and 2 Copper Wires.

Afterwards you will be tasked with exploring the cave on the planet. Follow your quest compass to find it and enter the Dark Cavern.

Dark Cavern[]

Follow the information given by Vinalisj during the Dark Cavern. If you find yourself stuck, chances are you need to reread his guidance (press enter to see the chat history in-game).

Your first task is to find the body tech (Dodge I). Remember that red doors require an explosive to open and ropes will help you get to higher places when you can't jump to them.

Your second task is to get the leg tech (Jump Boost).

Your third task is to get the head tech (Distortion Sphere).

Follow the Cavern to find the boss Mama Poptop. Defeating her will drop the required 20 core fragments for the Ancient Gateway to the outpost. Continue through the dungeon to the Ancient Gateway and activate it (be aware that your Tricorder must be in your inventory, and not elsewhere such as in storage or in a Matter Manipulator hotbar.) Upon activation you will receive a Science Brochure to the Science Outpost.

Within the Dark Cavern you will have the opportunity to loot Ancient Chests. Note that all are accessible. If you cannot reach one, you've missed something. Do not feel as though you must reach all of them as many contain only minor items.
