I hope you have been doing well iand staying safe n these crazy times. This is Aludriea from the FrackinUniverse wiki and I saw you made a quick edit to the home page of the FU wiki, mainly removing the link someone added to the new location for FrackinUniverse. (LINK TO NEW WIKI ) I was just wondering why you made the removal, and if there would be a better way to redirect incoming users to the new wiki location?
I am well, thanks for asking. I hope you and yours are safe and healthy.
I removed the link according to Fandom policy. This was discussed with RhinosF1 of Miraheze on this thread and privately on Discord back in March of this year. As you can see, Samuel updated the Miraheze guidance to reflect Fandom policy, which was greatly appreciated. The two-week grace period is long over, so I had to remove the link when I discovered it. Basically, there can't be any prominent links to the new wiki by policy. I won't delete the one on your message wall, for example, but I see one in Discussions that will have to go. I hope that answered your question.
Hey Moviesign, I saw you post some comment on some of the users in FU wiki, I would like to ask what is the requirement to apply for admin group? The reason is that I want to edit some of the existing infoboxes as I found out the infobox theme seems not able to cover all the labels.
User:Sayterdarkwynd (sayter on Discord) is the bureaucrat for this wiki, so I would ask him to either make the changes you want or promote you to admin so that you can do it. Normally anyone can edit the templates—are the ones you want to change protected? If so, then another possibility would be to ask him to remove the protection temporarily so you can edit them. The styles for the infoboxes are admin-only, however.
So, talk to Sayter and see what he says. I can also make the changes, but I'd rather not unless he approves.
I see. The thing I would like to change is to make the box flexible to cater the length of the content. Example Scorchburst, as you can see the rate of fire is outside of the box. If you can change that then it will be great for us to continue to update the infobox for related item/weapons.
Thank you for reaching out to me. I am not actually all that savvy in CSS. I've been learning little bits as I go, but just enough to structure and add to pages as needed. I'm not sure what you mean when you say that the CSS might be broken- Are you willing to explain what you mean and what would it involve / look like to change or fix it?
